Do any of you use shampoo on your birds? I am not a fan of anything but water, although I must admit that we have had a number of people who have brought cockatoos in for groomings and I just couldn't stand their filthy feathers, so I offer to bathe them and do use the cockatoo shampoo for this purpose. (Water just would not do the trick).

My birds are bathed with good old fashioned H20. It's amazing how many people do not know how beneficial it is to bathe birds. Almost scary!

Pita's a spray bottle addict. He can't get enough. I just use water on him.

Just water here. I do have some baby shampoo on hand in case Ollie gets into something that just won't come off with water, but I've never had to use it. I would dilute it and rinse very well of course.

Is baby shampoo safe? (I assume it must be if you use it). I hadn't heard that previously.

dawn dishwashing liquid if they get into poop, pom juice, etc.

Just plain warm water in the tub or shower any other time.

I cant say I have ever used any soap.(on the birds that is!)

I have heard it is, but then I've heard thousands of things in the past that turned out to be absolute hooey. Like I said, I've never used it- just read of others doing it. I'll do some research on it while hopefully in the meantime someone who knows for sure will speak up!

Even pomegranate seems to wash right off of Ollie with just water. Maybe she's been doused with stain-guard??

I have heard that Dawn is safe.... I think that is what is used in unfortunate oil spills when ducks and geese are part of the clean-up effort.
