Would anyone like to meet Dolly?

Dolly is a 14 y/o Yellow Crowned Amazon female who will be joining our family next weekend. She loves me

. We went and visited her at my friend's house last night (in the bird room--she makes a business of boarding other people's birds), and we took some pix and video. You might notice that Dolly only has 3 tail feathers. Apparently this is from some old injury that keeps more from ever growing in. She's also just very slightly plucked, so if you have any suggestions apart from diet and vitamins via RPO, I'd be glad to hear them.

Aw what a pretty girl and lucky to boot if she will be living with you. Sadly I know squat about Amazons but I know there are plenty here that will be able to help you.

YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I am so glad she will be coming to live with you. She is one WAY COOL Amazon (and I am not an Amazon fan).

Don't worry about the plucking. I have knowledge of how you feed your birds and in no time she will be fully feathered and glowing with health.

Smokey is fully feathered now (except for her brood patch) and she was almost as naked as Eddie when she came to live with me (from the same person). Big cage, good food, good light and great company will do wonders.

Congrats!!!

I dont usually get much of a reaction from Tiko while watching videos of fids, but she jumped off my shoulder and ran over to the screen to get a better look!!

Camille, if I added the 2 fancy-colored lovies and the 6 zebra finch boys to my list, I WOULD be there! LOL!

Yes, unless the lovies or Petey McSweet are girls (we've never had Petey DNAd), Miss Dolly will be our first girl. Dog knows what she'll think of a houseful of male Goons! LOL! Luckily, she's already used to having lots of birds around (her person has several, plus she boards other people's birds), and as the family also have 3 dogs, the woofmeisters here shouldn't overwhelm her. Except maybe when company comes to visit--ask Deb--those beasties go off so much better than the average alarm system!
