They are preening each other now...LOL It is so cute watching them.. I do get some of the casing off the pins when I pet them...
They are now getting more curious... and when I call them to eat.... they get excited.... And they are happy when I come to play with them.... they love their one on one time....
I have them all DNA'ed... You can tell with the greens.. but it gets harder with each mutation...
I had some very experienced breeders tell me.... I know that is a female.... I was looking for a female... I paid for the DNA.... Because I already had 3 spare males I needed hens for....( 1 I had already bought as a hen)
DNA..came back males...
So to be on the safe side... and so no one is disappointed... I DNA them right after I put on the bands..
It is funny 2006 was known as "the year of the male" in the Linnie world.... Hens were far and few....
Duh. Why did I think you could tell by the beak? A gentleman tonight was asking if we DNA our Linnies, and I said I thought you "might" be able to tell without a DNA test, but I promised I would "check with the expert". Thanks, Expert!
