We should want our birds to be as comfortable as truly possible - regardless of where we live, therefore we should do our best to provide them with temperatures that are very similar to their region of origin. We should find out these seasonal ranges and then imitate them by using our human inventions such as air-conditioning, heating and humidity controls
(etc.) rather than simply settling for what our birds can just tolerate.
My flock of Greys do quite well here in sunny, hot and humid Florida. Most spend the majority of their yearly time outside where temps. are around 90 degrees this time of yr. but fluctuate between short periods of low temps. in the 40s to short periods of high temps. near the mid 90s with a rare dip into the high 30s and a rare dip into the high 90s. There is plenty of shade here at the Compound and helpful breezes, cool showers
(from the hose when needed in addition to natural rain showers) to assist them in feeling comfy. They all seem like happy campers to me.
