Default Wee Beasties

Warning: Arachnophobes and bug haters might not want to look.

Macro photography is challenging, but a lot of fun and addictive! Grabbed the camera and headed out to the garden the other day to see if I could capture some insect life. These were taken at the long end of a 50-200 zoom lens, with a closeup lens added for greater magnification.

OK, that last shot freaked me out! I am not a bug person.

Great pics though Nate!

Lori, I think he's what we always called "Daddy Long-legs". Don't know the proper name though. Notice he's missing a leg on the left side, but it didn't seem to trouble him any.

I don't know enough about the daddy long-legs - the ones I know have a fat white/grey abdomen with thinner legs.

Great work. You must be having a blast.
