Default Mango

John showed me an easy way to keep Mango in for Occy. He left the skin on and cut it in slices down to the pit. It came off easy. He wrapped each slice in plastic and foil, marked it and put it in the freezer. I took it out and nuked it for 15 seconds, then cut it in chunks to the skin and peeled it off. And viola! Fresh Mango!

Today my little Buddy birdie is going to try mango for the first time with our iguanas lol. I told them they were all going to have a fruit night. LOL Peaches, mangos, and banannas. I think they are going to love it. I have noticed though with fruits, its hard to get Buddy to eat them. Any suggestions when trying new foods?~Jenna

Lots of birds are more into veggies.

Most foods can take a while to introduce. We have fruit every morning around our house & often eat it with the Budgies watching. It is part of the 'flock' mentality to eat as one. Once in a while Laker will fly to a bowl & want to try some. He likes the juices at the bottom the most. He likes Mango and apple. Rio has tried a few things too.

They like cookies & cake & pie best tho.

Just keep trying over and over. If you eat it and share with them, they usually can't resist.

I have a funny story about Kady grabbing food right out of my hand as I was eating it. I was eating a few of those orange colored circus peanuts candy while he was on my arm. He reached right out and grabbed it right away from me. Now the wrestling match was on, because I certainly didn't want him to eat it. Luckily I had just made sweet potato cubes and I was able to trade my orange treat for an orange potato cube. He sat on my arm and ate three of them because he thought that's what I was eating.

That is so cute. I had Laker on top of my gooey cinnamon bun one day - Yikes - I was not happy. Those were really sticky toes & not what I wanted him to be eating. He was like a bee - very focused on the sweets & carbs.
