Dino, an Amazon parrot, escaped Monday, but a classified ad helped bring him back to his bird-loving owner.
COSTA MESA An 8-month-old Amazon parrot named Dino escaped possibly becoming part of another animal's meal thanks to the Web site craigslist.org, leaving his owner Jason Strong able to breathe a sigh of relief … and able to eat again after the bird's two-day absence.
"I can't even put it into words. I'm relieved. I'm happy. I can eat now. I've been so upset it's been hard to eat," said Strong, 35, who has cerebral palsy.
Strong's caregiver, Alena Sanchez, had taken Dino, so named because of his velociraptor-like screech, to see a friend in Fountain Valley on Monday.
