Default QuickFinder® Clipper

Has anyone tried these yet?

The new QuickFinder® Clipper is a nail clipper for dogs (up to 75 lbs), cats and small animals, and birds, that utilizes QuickSensor Technology that senses your pet's quick and gives visual cues as to when it is safe and when it is not safe to begin clipping. Red-Yellow-Green. Green means Go! It is fast, safe and easy to use.

Our patented design utilizes sensor technology to detect nail differences between the live blood of your pet's quick, and the dead skin of the nail and claw. QuickSensor senses with a circuit-board precision, when it is safe to cut, when to be cautious, and when it is not safe to cut.

Guys, my FIL has one of these. For a small bird they would work fine...but for those of you with Macaws don't waste your money!!

They work for smaller dogs with thinner nails...they do not work with my labXshep and they didn't work with Maple and Harley. Has something to do with the nail being to thick or dense.

They aren't all they are cracked up to be! They work ok for my FIL small breed dogs (Scottie's and Westie's)...but they would not give us a reading on our fids nails.

Now I don't know if brand would make a difference..or if there is more then one brand. All I know is that he had these quick finder nail clippers and they didn't work for our fids LOL.

For the Macs we might need the deluxe;

Generally, the QuickFinder® works on dogs up to 75 pounds. However, more important than weight, is the hardness (density) of the nail. Any current guillotine style nail clipper does not effectively cut extremely hard (dense) or large nails. If your pet has extremely hard or very large nails, wait until our deluxe model comes out in early 2008.

Found this at Miracle Corp;

Due to the popularity of the QuickFinder, the QuickFinder Deluxe is being released in June. This nail clipper caters to large breeds and animals with hard-to-cut nails. It offers the same benefits as the QuickFinder but with improved cutting action, improved sensitivity and improved strength. The QuickFinder Deluxe is strong enough for use by groomers and veterinarians.

I read an update that it will be fall of 2008 before we see the deluxe model....so that probably means spring of 2009.

Wanted to add, the picture of the deluxe brand is not the guillotine style. I have similar clippers (minus the quick sensors) for the macs like this that work well on their nails.

Ahhhh...ya that might work. My FIL just has the regular one.

Honestly I would wanna see it in action first...after using the other one I'd still have my doubts I think.

Hmmm .....

Yeah, I want to read some reviews. The deluxe model is supposed to be approved for groomers and vets so my AV will have them if they're any good.

Boy we need something here! Ruby's nails get piercingly sharp and I hate to take her to the vet. She gets really stressed there.
