Kady is choosing Cashews and leaving his Walnuts uneaten. Does anyone know how to properly analyze the nutrients, I'm lost trying to compare. Should I be concerned and try to get at least 1 Walnut into him? He needs the calories...I could always add them to Birdie Bread.

I don't know how to analyze, but what happens if he gets only walnuts with cashew as prizes? It amy be that he leaves walnuts because he has better tasting nuts available.

I think cashews are just as good. That is the one nut all of my birds love! But Mr Buddy's fav is walnuts!

Seems I've always heard that walnuts should be limited due to something in them, but darned if I can remember what it was. My birds (and I) MUCH prefer cashews over walnuts. Ours get both, but they'll pick out all the cashews (roasted, unsalted), first, and eat the rest, afterwards.

Mine love both. They get plenty of almonds as well.
I buy bulk food and once in a while a peanut ends up in it, so they even get one of those, but very seldome.
