Look at this Dove

Arty, I thought of you with this little one. I found this dove to have beautiful markings. I loved the white scalloped edges on the feathers. Is this a Mourning Dove? It looks a smidgy different to me.

Looks like a Mourning to me. Maybe just got in all those downy feathers or may be very young.

Yepper, thats a young Morning Dove.
Very beautiful
Hopefully he/she will hang onto the coloration, after a few molts there maybe a change.
I used to care for a mated pair of pure with Doves, once in awhile one of there babies would turn out with a pinch of color here and there, its a gene issue.
A Quaker Parrot for example, one will see a touch of yellow in there feathers, I know a breeder down in Florida, he has isolated that gene and now has bred a pure yellow Quaker, the same with the blues and pure white color.
I recently came across an article that claims theres pure blue Quakers being found in the wild.

I love them too.

At my new job I get to put bird feed in a feeder at the back door - the small birds toss out what they don't want or have food fights & there are 2 Morning Doves & some Pigeons who sit around waiting for the food to land near them - so lovely.
