Chris Shank helps enrich the lives of owners and parrots

It’s not entirely accurate to say that business owner and parrot trainer Chris Shank’s job is to find out just why Polly wants a cracker, but it’s close.

Shank, 60, is a parrot trainer. She moved her parrot-training ranch, Cockatoo Downs, from Turner to a 4-acre parcel of land on the outskirts of Dallas a year ago to teach people how to train their birds using positive reinforcement techniques honed through three decades of animal-training experience. Morning Karen! Thanks for the neat articles. Fun! Polly wants a cracker reminds me that at my vets they have an amazon that lives there and she will ask you "do you have a cracker???" Great story! Ruby says "step-up!"

Judy, I was thinking Texas too when I saw Dallas. But they're located in Dallas, Oregon.

Well, that stinks,LOL!!! I was hoping to run away from home for some R&R and some education to boot! That's just my luck, LOL! Glad you warned me before I checked it out!
