When I opened up my e-mail from Peta and watched the video of this poor baby goffin cockatoo Angel and her story and the behind the scenes at the disgusting bird mill Rainbow World Exotics in Texas I almost threw up. The lack of veterinary care and the disgusting practices that these employees demonstrated in this video were repulsive. I fully back PETA in their effort to shut this bird mill down and show Petsmart just exactly the kind of place their animals are coming from.

I didn't watch the videos, but I remember the Today Show did a segment about this late last fall or early this year just after the undercover footage was revealed. I do believe because of the exposure some positive changes were made at some of the other large chain stores.

I know our first reaction to something like this is outrage, but please take a moment and let your voice be heard by sending a letter to PetsMart. Ask them to reach out to adoption agencies for placement of small animals and birds, like they do with dogs and cats and not deal with animal mills.

You may also want to remind them that during an interview their CEO once said "We try to stay on the side of angels with all animals. We do not sell certain animals for specific reasons." Request that this policy be in effect for ALL animals.

Still cant get it out of my mind especially that poor little angel. Despite how cruelly that ***** treat her that poor bird was still following her round, Id give anything for Billy to follow me.

Good idea, it's always advised when wanting a business to reconsider their practices to approach them with level headed calm words.

Like I mentioned earlier the footage was from an investigation that was done months ago. I don't know what, if any changes have been made at the chain. I also don't know if any legal proceedings were brought or are in progress against the mill. I haven't had the time to check out any current sources of information.
