Default My baby ate her first food.

Banjo, my baby b&g has eaten her first food. She is nine weeks old and has finally swallowed something other than formula.
I have been offering her food to play with and taste for a while now but she just spits it out. Today at lunch I was trying again with mellon. She licked all the juice and then swallowed a piece and more pieces. She also had a tiny bit of banana. Afterwards she got her formula which now has double veg mixed in.

She is becoming quite a little character and doing a lot of wing exercises. I am amazed at the number of noises that she can do. Already she understands what the sound of formula getting mixed means, it makes her blush and start barking/honking a little louder.

Love her name Angie! Very good that she's starting to swallow food. I know by the time she is abundance weaned you will have her eating everything that's good for her!

Banjo seems to be sticking, Dana thought it up a week or so ago. She definitely has a strong will. We debate each day to decide if she will stay on my lap or try for the shoulder. I have to try "win" the debate as my shoulder is a privilege not a automatic right.

YEA! Look out! She'll become a banana eating machine! We gave Bailey a banana while he was weaning and he begs and begs for them when he sees them now.

Way to go big girl Banjo!

Her favorite seems to be brocoli. She is still eating well except for the formula, she tries to grab the spoon by foot or tip the spoon up and let it run into her mouth instead of chugging. She is just like a baby trying to feed herself, the job takes so much longer and causes a real big mess but we both get pleasure from the exercise. I could never imagine feeding any bird by tube or syringe again. I was told that a macaw can not be feed by spoon but her antics is just too much to deny. She flew without liftoff so soon we have flight.
