Default New PBFD swearing

As you know I just took on a new PBFD Sulpha Crested. I have just a little problem.

He swears and cusses. Like the F word. Now I have been known to say the F word here and there but not like Pi'ere does. At the moment he is saying it in a deep voice, almost under his breath, what do I do when he starts to get more comfortable here and says it out loud during the day
We do not really swear in this house. Aussie slang yes but what he is coming out with, definitely NO. How do I stop him

You'll have to ignore it, he'll stop using it in time. If it's just one word, you can try offering an alternate word or phrase that sounds similar, such as "Oh Fudge!" and he'll pick up on that and forget the other in time.

We don't usually swear here either but both of my Greys were re homes and each learned one word with their previous families. Not bad though...one says S#it and the other da*#. No F word thank goodness. We don't make a big deal of it and they don't say the words as often as they use to. So, I agree with Karen, try to ignore it.

okies yes just the one F word amonst his chatter. He does it at night,
this is some of his expressions.

What the F are you doing.
F. ing hell.
What the F.
F.ing thing.
F.ing Shi. thing.

He goes on with this in a continual chatter.

That's horrible I hope the previous owner was not directing those terms at him!

I agree with the swaping out a similar acceptable word when he says the naughty words.

Now you can see why I am posting about it. Normally if it was just one word here and there I wouldn't worry. As soon as I turn the outside light on to go get firewood that is stored on the porch I can hear him going at it.
My son even commented to me tonight about it. Said he heard Pi'ere chattering away with the expressions.
I am no prude, but really, I am not up for such blesphamy.
No I don't think the owner directed it at the bird. He was looked after, never abused.
Just misguided and ignorant of the birds disease. Ignorant of good feeding practice and some good veterinary care.

With some luck and some major enthusiasm on your part teaching him alternate words might help. If he is swearing at bed time, than perhaps records similar more acceptable words and play them for him for about 2o minutes in the beginning of bedtime, while he is already practicing his vocabulary.

Why is he doing it at night? He doesn't vocalize so much at day time. I would have thought at night he would be less active and asleep. Beats me.
I am now ignoring him at night. I just went out for some wood and didn't even talk to him. Yup he was vocalizing when I went out there, same stuff.
My, my, such blesphamy, never in my life before.
