Default Popped Corn Treat

This isn't so much a recipe as an idea for a treat. I always give a treat at bedtime when the birds go into their sleep cages.

This is a favorite;

I pop organic popping corn in Red Palm Oil. When it's done popping I immediately sprinkle it with Cayenne Pepper.

When they see me put a piece or two of fresh popped corn in their dish, they can't hop into their sleeping cages fast enough!

very good idea my birds love it, they even know the sound of popping corn after bedtime and it makes them all wake up and demand a share.

Mine know that sound as well. All you can hear is popcorn popping and bells ringing.

What I want to know - have you tried it?

Thanks for the idea - I wonder if Budgies would like Red Palm Oil?

I've tried it minus the Cayenne. I've also cooked with RPO for us humans too. It's very good for you.

Here's a site that carries the Red Palm Fruit Oil (at a good price) and has recipes!

If you've used it to cook with - how does it affect your food? I'd rather hear it from you than anyone who's selling it.

But I will check out the recipes.

1/4C of oil seems like a lot - in the veggie section. The ones asking for 3 tbsps seems more realistic. I like the idea of Coconut oil - it is supposed to be very good for humans.
