About 5 yrs ago we had a driver working for us that was getting a divorce and needed to rehome his M2 Cheifer. My then husband was head over heals for her,but with a small house full of Macaws it wasn't the best idea for us to take her in,but someone else we knew took her in.That only lasted a few months and there revolving door of pets was turning and she needed to be rehomed again.Another couple took her in for a few months, but one night I got a call to come get her or she was going out with the trash.Well Macaws or not we went to get her,no way is a bird going out to the curb if I can help it.I had 6 filters running all the time once she moved in,but was still so worried about her effect on the rest of the birds.I met a lady on line that had a Macaw in a house full of Toos,so for the health of all birds involved Sammy the Harlequin came to live with me and Chefier went to live with her, that was 3 1/2 yrs ago.Two weeks ago I got an email and she is having breathing problems and her Dr said the birds have to go ,so she wanted to know if I would take Cheifer back.I jumped at the chance,I have missed her since she left and now with a bigger house I don't have to worry about her effect on the Macaws. My ex was traveling to the town she was in on Friday,so he picked her up and brought her back for me.Those two always had a special bond and they are already back to her being his baby.It is really like she never left and as long as I'm alive she is done moving.
FYI- I got to keep all of the birds in the divorce because we both felt it was the best thing to leave them all together in their home, but he does get visitation with them.Which is good for me if I ever want to go anywhere, there aren't too many other people that will take care of 25 birds and 2 Saints
