My non-fid buddies would never understand this......they already think I am crazy......but y'all will definitely find the humor this.

Jack is a fairly good talker, but I have never been able to get him to respond to a particular command or question. So, I thought I would start some serious training in this area. Bird trainers advise to start with something they already know (the response) and then add the command/question.

Crackerjack already does a wonderful "belch", so I began telling him, "Give me a burp!" and then I would "belch." I did this over and over again.

Much to my dismay, Jack's newest and most
persistent phrase/word is, "BURP, BURP, BURP!" And is isn't even on my command!

OMG! I am such a failure!

I'm sure Jack would like a treat for a lesson well learned. Now you know he's going to say this at all the wrong times and in front of all the wrong people!

Miss Sophie, a CAG that grew up with kids, came to me making a belch and raspberry sound and every time she did either one I would say: "Oops, I did a nasty" She hasn't learned to say it yet but, whenever she makes one sound and I say the phrase, she does the other, too. For good measure, I guess - LOL

Keep on trying, with birds and talking, it's a matter of repetition.
