Default Female Eclectus

Does anyone know how 2 females would get along? I'm not really looking for them to be best buddies, but just be able to cohabitate with one another.

Thanks!!!

I don't know from personal experience, but in the wild they are highly territorial against eachother, and would go to great lengths to get rid of eachother.

From what I gather, the hen lives most of her life in the seclusion of a tree hollow waiting on males to feed her. I dont think they flock like other parrots do. This is a tough call for your Lucy Dom. I know your heart is in it but Lucy is special and needs you.

my ekkie female is a hormonal roller coaster some days she loves her buddy ella, and other days she wants to push her out the bars of their cage...Audrey (my grand female) is a former breeder & used to get plucked by her mate before he passed. And when audrey is in her "moods" she plucks ella, but most of the time they love each other...I would pass on a second female ekkie with lucy IMO : / but good luck !

well, from what I have gathered, and the reason why they thought the males where a different species all together, the females hang together and fly together as do the males. BUT they don't go near each others nest. I know a couple people who have multiple females and I haven't heard of any problems.

I would be VERY cautious about that- Especially when they get to an age where they are hormonal- They get VERY territorial about their 'nest'. A female Ekkie in cage defense mode is a dangerous beast, indeed. I have scars to prove that!!

Nothing meaner than a female ekkie. They don't go for the nip, they go for the kill.
