Re: <Article> Grit I used to many years ago and stopped precisely because of all the horror stories about crop impaction (not that any of mine ever did get it) but I put out some yesterday after reading this article. I saw some of the tiels, keets and doves go for it this am but none of the larger ones. I only put out a tiny bit in two out of the way places, I figured if they are looking for it, they will find it. But the truth is that I wasn't expecting any of the larger parrots to eat it. They are very distrustful of anything they don't know and they need to see something many, many times before they become sufficiently familiar with it to try it so I doubt they will go for it any time soon. I will continue putting out a bit of it here and there and see what happens. The grit I use is actually very good, loaded with good minerals... |
